I know the title of this post is a bold statement to be throwing out there so flippantly, but I am a total sheet mask convert. They’re travel-friendly, easy to slap on and deliver the same skin-loving benefits of traditional clay masks with half the mess. You basically can’t go wrong!
So, when Origins – the undisputed King of facemasks – brought out their Flower Fusion Hydrating Sheet Mask range… needless to say, I was super excited!
The range is inspired by the ‘naturally radiant beauty of flowers’, and each of the 6 masks harnesses a different essential oil blend to deliver specific skin benefits:
Violet – Nourishing
Raspberry – Refreshing
Jasmine – Softening
Orange – Radiance-Boosting
Lavender – Soothing
Rose – Hydrating
Sheet masks are great for sensitive skin types as they feel instantly cooling and soothing, and this range is no exception. Plus, these masks are made using natural bamboo and formulated with pure flower extract, which I love as I find more natural products are better suited to my skin. They’re are also really comfortable to wear compared to other sheet masks I’ve tried, and generously sized too – It seems I need a larger than average sheet to cover my forehead!
I wanted to try a few different masks, and so I ended up going for the Orange, Rose and Lavender as these address my main skin concerns:
The Orange Flower mask is particularly fragrant; the zesty scent is really uplifting and refreshing, and it certainly made my complexion look more radiant and rejuvenated. For those with dull, greyish skin this is a no-brainer, and a great pick-me-up for hung-over days too!
The Rose mask was probably the most universal of the three I tried. I think it’s safe to say we could all use a little more hydration in our skin, and whilst all of the masks are hydrating (that’s kind of the nature of sheet masks), this one was particularly moisturising and dewy. This would be great for post-flights to give a nice shot of hydration back to the skin, or even on holiday evenings after a day in the sun.
Finally, the Lavender mask was a clear favourite for me. Lavender is really soothing and balancing, which is great if your skin is looking a little inflamed and blotchy, or if you suffer from breakouts like me. I loved the way my skin looked after using this one. It was brighter, clearer and more even toned, and my skin continued to look great – if I do say so myself – for about a week following the mask use. So, this will definitely be my go-to for nights out or special occasions where I want my skin to be in tip-top condition.
At £5 each, these masks are really reasonably priced considering the usual price point of Origins. And they’re by far my favourite sheet masks in the market at the moment.
I’d love to hear what sheet masks you love. Or if sheet masks really aren’t your thing, you should check out my post on the Lush Magnaminty mask – it’s a life-saver for problematic skin!
